TRAI integrates its moile app DND 2.0 & MyCall with UMANG platform

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) has integrated its MyCall and DND 2.0 apps on the Umang (Unified mobile application for new-age governance) platform for Android users. It will be available for iPhone users in future but no timeframe has been given by the regulator for that.

Umang app: Umang (Integrated Mobile Application for New Age Government System) has been developed by the Department of National e-Government of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. The excitement provides a single platform for all Indian nationals across the country from the Central Government to the level of local bodies and for other citizen centric e-services. It provides an integrated system through which citizens can install a single application and use many government services. At present, Umang has been downloaded 50 lakh times and TRI apps 4 lakh times. Consumers using Android phones can either download TRAI apps directly from the Google Play Store or they can use them through the Umang application.

Dnd 2.0 app: DND (Do-Not-Disturb) service provider allows smart phone subscribers to register their mobile number in DND and to report unwanted calls and messages so that the complaints of unwanted calls (UCC) and telemarketing calls and messages Can go

TRAI call-call app: TRAI Moy-Call App is a simple and easy-to-use system for people based on people's support to monitor the quality of mobile calls. This application provides the opportunity for consumers to share their experience of the quality of mobile call at the same time and helps the TRAI to collect consumer experience and network statistics. After the call ends, a pop-up from the consumer A request is made to tell the quality of the call through the window. Consumers choose their rating as the number of stars and inform that the call was done indoors, outside or on the way. Caller-scan also gives additional information such as noise, delay hearing, or information about call drop.




Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs will freeze all new trade and investment with Canada over its interference in the Kingdom's internal affairs, it said in a statement.The Kingdom recalled its ambassador to Ottawa and ordered the Canadian envoy to Riyadh to leave within 24 hours.The ministry cited remarks made by Canada's Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland and the Canadian embassy in Riyadh last week, criticizing the Kingdom's detention of the civil society activists, urging "Saudi authorities to release them immediately."

Events: After the Canadian Embassy in Riyadh had demanded release of closed civil rights activists in jail, the Ministry of External Affairs said, "Saudi Arabia will not tolerate interference in its internal affairs."
After this Saudi Arabia announced to expel the Canadian ambassador from the country and stop all trade agreements with Ottawa. Saudi Arabia has given Canadian Ambassador Dennis Horak 24 hours to leave the country. Badawi was arrested last week with his associate campaign Nasima al-Sadah.

What is the dispute?: Canada has opposed the captive human rights activist Rap Badawi and his sister Samar Badawi in captivity in Saudi Arabia prison. Raf Badawi has been sentenced to death for ten years in jail and 1,000 felony for insulting Islam in 2012. Badawi started the 'Free Saudi Liberal' website for debate on the role of religion in the country. Badawi was arrested in June 2012 for allegations of cyber crime and his father's disobedience.
