HARYANA TOPS IN PER CAPITA REVENUE COLLECTION UNDER GOODS & SERVICE TAX

Haryana has topped other states in per capita revenue collection under GST, and is also the fourth highest generator of e-way bills in the country, state Finance Minister Abhimanyu said. Haryana has widened the tax base by 82.22 per cent and logged 19 per cent hike in revenue collections, he added. Besides, the compliance percentage of assessees in the state is 5-7 per cent higher than the national average and revenue collection under commercial taxes has registered double-digit growth. Listing the state's achievements post GST rollout, he said one of the most important achievements had been widening of the tax base by 82.22 per cent.

TWO INDIAN-ORIGIN TECH EXECUTIVE WOMEN: JAYSHREE ULLAL AND NEERJA SETHI ON FORBES LIST

Indian-origin technology executives Jayshree Ullal and Neerja Sethi have made it to the Forbes' list of America's 60 richest self-made women, with 21-year-old reality-TV star and entrepreneur Kylie Jenner the youngest to be featured in the power list. Ullal is ranked 18th in the list of 60 self-made women, having a net worth of 1.3 billion dollars while Sethi is ranked 21st with a net worth of a billion dollars.
Jayshree Ullal has been serving as the President and CEO of Arista Networks, a computer networking firm since 2008. Neerja Sethi is the Vice President of IT consulting and outsourcing company, Syntel in Troy, Michigan. Syntel minted $924 million in 2017 revenues and now has 23,000 employees.

NAVIN AGARWAL

Navin Agarwal has been re-appointed as whole-time director of metals and mining giant Vedanta Limited. Agarwal's re-appointment as whole-time director is for another five-year period starting from August 1, 2018 and subject to shareholders' approval at the forthcoming annual general meeting of the company.

FRANCE WON FIFA WORLD CUP 2018 FINAL AGAINST CROATIA

The French national team was crowned world champions after defeating an underdog Croatian team 4-2 in the World Cup final in Moscow, capturing its second World Cup title and its first since it hosted the 1998 tournament 20 years ago. Les Bleus manager Didier Deschamps was the captain in 1998 when his team shocked Brazil in Paris, and he became the third to ever win the World Cup as a player and coach.

NOVAK DJOKOVIC BEATS KEVIN ANDERSON TO WIN WIMBLEDON 2018

Novak Djokovic claimed a fourth Wimbledon title in ruthless fashion as he beat giant South African Kevin Anderson 6-2 6-2 7-6(3) on a sweltering Centre Court. Anderson, bidding to become the first South African to win the men’s title, had spent 21 hours on court to reach his first Wimbledon final and his tank appeared to be empty in the opening two sets as a clinical Djokovic dominated.

KANU GOHAIN

Former Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) Kanu Gohain, 68, died after a brief illness. Gohain, who was the last technocrat to head the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), retired from services in 2008.
